Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her father, a hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th of 1998. Her career has seen her won twelve WTA singles titles. One of them was the Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. Additionally, she's a fantastic doubles player. She's won two Majors to her name in this specialty that include the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both by Elise Mertens. In 2019, she was the winner of two majors, the WTA 1000 and Miami Open in Indian Wells with her Belgian teammate, and completed the Sunshine Double. The feat was achieved by four couples playing in singles for women. In January of 2023 she reached her highest ranking in singles. The 23rd day of August 2021, she climbed to number two in world rankings. In doubles however she pushed her way to the top in February of the same year following her victory in Melbourne becoming thus the second tennis player from Belarus to be a part of this specialty. Dmitry Tursunov (a former Russian tennis player) was her coach for a portion of the 2019 season in 2018 and through the end. Dieter Kindlmann coached her briefly in August of 2020 until September. As of the year 2020's end, she has been coached by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams is her role model, being followed by Maria Sharapova.
